8/2005 – Present – Tenure Track Assistant Professor of Theatre – Metropolitan State College – Denver, CO
Served as Sound Designer and Video Coordinator on all department productions. Also served as Technical Director and Lighting Designer on a rotating basis with other staff and guest designers on department productions. Other duties included reorganizing the lighting and sound inventories and storage. Also served as a member of the Theatre Users Group committee for the King Center for Performing Arts.

5/2003 – 11/2003 – Technical Consultant and Lighting Designer – Centre for the Performing Arts– Vancouver, BC
Technical Consultant on the Centre’s effort to establish a new producing theatre company at the 1,800 seat Centre for the Performing Arts space. Responsibilities included consulting on the instillation of a new sound and lighting system, hiring of production staff, and coordination of all production calendars. Also served as the Lighting Designer on their World Premiere production of Senses. The production featured scenery, costumes, and performers from China and a $100,000.00 lighting budget.
7/2002 - 5/2003 – Resident Technical Director – Country Dinner Playhouse and Kid’s Play Children’s Theatre – Denver, CO
Supervision and direction of all technical aspects for all mainstage and children’s theatre productions for both equity theatre companies. Country Dinner Playhouse is an “in-the-round” theatre, featuring a hydraulic stage that rises into the ceiling for scene changes. Areas supervised include scenic construction, welding, scenic painting, properties, effects, 3-D animation, puppetry, and run-crew.

9/2000 - 7/2002 - Resident Lighting Designer – Denver Civic Theatre - Denver, CO
Resident Lighting Designer for all productions by DCT and other resident companies including Horsechart Theatre Company and Industrial Arts Theatre. Maintained lighting systems in the proscenium arch Henry Theatre and black box Dorie Theatre. Supervised the upgrade of both spaces from a CMX Colortran Lighting System to a DMX ETC Lighting System. Collaborated with directors, designers, and other production personnel to provide a unified artistic vision for each production.
· Productions: Marvin’s Room, Dracula, Right On America!, Hamlet, Terra Nova, Dangerous Liaisons, Glengarry Glen Ross, The Mystery of Irma Vep, Measure for Measure, Reckless, The Swan, and Machinal.
· Supervised a cadet crew for the DCT’s production of Measure for Measure that toured to the US Air Force Academy’s 3,000 seat Arnold Hall.
2/2000 - 9/2001 & 5/2004 – Staff Technical Director/Lighting Designer – David Taylor Dance Theatre– Denver, CO.
Lighting design and technical direction for all touring productions. Working with each venue to create light plots and staging that meet each show’s technical requirements. The venues ranged from 3,000 seat roadhouses to 100 seat community centers. Other responsibilities included renting equipment, training assistants for tours, and stage managing each performance.
· Productions: Rainforest, Seasons, The Nutcracker, 2001 Steps, Contemporary Classics, Rainforest Odyssey, and The Nutcracker Tea..
· Rainforest is an original DTDT creation that involves extensive use of dance lighting and other effects such as black light, syncopated rain pods, cold flow chemical fog, gobo rotators, color scrollers, scrim effects, and data flashes.
8/1999 - 2/2000 – Corporate Lighting Designer – Richter Scale Productions– Englewood, CO.
Corporate lighting design and production management in unconventional spaces such as ballrooms, outdoor stages, expo halls, tents, concourses, etc. Supervised crew of trained electricians and other technical personnel in implementing the design. Logistical planning for this type of design included power allocation and distribution, truss placement and rigging, trucking materials to and from the event, and coordination with other departments such as audio, video and food service. Collaborated with various producers in meeting the client’s requirements for each event.
· Client Events: Lockheed Martin, AT&T Broadband, Level 3 Communications, Storage Tek, US Bank, Jefferson Foundation, Colorado Children’s Chorale, Colorado History Museum, SCC Communications, and University of Denver.
· Equipment used on events included: High End moving fixtures such as Studio Spots, Studio Colors, Track Spots, and Technobeams; conventional lighting and dimming; color scrollers; pyrotechnics; and Whole Hog and ETC lighting consoles.
5/1999 - 7/1999 – Lighting Designer – Lincoln Amphitheatre – Evansville, IN.
Designed and supervised implementation of designs in the 1,500 seat Lincoln Amphitheatre as well as collaborated with other designers, directors and theatre staff.
· Productions: Young Abe Lincoln and The Music Man.
· The Lincoln Amphitheatre is a roofed space with a stage that is 175’ – 0” wide and 75’ – 0” deep. The productions played in rep.
5/1998 – 8/1998 and 5/1996-8/1996 – Master Electrician/Technical Assistant – Summer Music Theatre – Macomb, IL.
Served as Master Electrician on all productions. Trained staff in all aspects of electrician work. Maintained all equipment used in productions.

Served as the Master Carpenter for all productions. Duties included supervising a crew of actor/technicians in the set installation during a 2-day turnaround time between productions.

10/1989 - 3/1993 – Assistant Technical Director – Zellmer’s Dinner Theatre – Farmington, IL.
Served as part of a three-person team that was responsible for the design and execution of scenery, lighting, sound, and effects for all productions. The effects included pyrotechnics, rain, fountains, neon, black light, and chemical fog.

8/1995 - 5/1999 – Departmental Master Electrician/Lighting Designer – Western Illinois University – Macomb, IL.
Served as the Departmental Master Electrician on all productions within the theatre department, usually averaging 12 per semester. Supervised crew of 6 electricians in implementing each production and maintaining all equipment used within the department. Trained and supervised talent-grant students, Intro to Theatre students, and actor/technicians in fulfilling course and scholarship requirements.
· Lighting Designer: Picasso at the Lapin Agile, The Comedy of Errors, On the Verge, The Bald Soprano, Dancing at Lughnasa, The Dwarfs, Hedda Gabler, Fool for Love, The Children’s Hour, Oleanna, The Forced Marriage and various other productions.

· 2002 and 2003 – Crested Butte Fine Arts Center, Crested Butte, CO: Presented two 3-day Lighting and Electrics Intensives entitled Lighting Design 101 for theatre professionals of a wide range of age and experience. The workshops focused on designing and maintaining a repertory lighting plot for a small fine arts facility.
· 2002 and 2003 – Spoon River College, Canton, IL: Presented two 1-day Introduction to Lighting workshops with students and staff members.
· 2002 - New Orleans USITT: Served as the Practicing Professional on the Education Committee’s presentation on “Using lighting design software in education”.
